For Hana's actual birthday on March 19 we were in Corpus Christi visiting Hana and Ricky's grandparents. We made sure to have a small celebration for her. She picked out a chocolate cake that was yummy. She was in heaven because she received a couple of presents. It was a small and good celebration. I can't believe my baby is 3!!

SPRING BREAK 2010
Wow it has been a long time since I have blogged. We have just been busy and non stop. This Spring Break went by super fast. We also stayed extremely busy.
The 1st Saturday of spring break we met True Vine Fellowship up at The Huntsville State Park. They camped for 4 days or so, but I thought 1 nice sunny day was good enough for me. The nights were cold!!!!
It was a gorgeous day. We got there around lunch time. First thing the kids did was go swimming in the lake. They didn't anticipate on the water being so cold. But they were all troopers and got right in. Later we fished. Big Ricky caught about 8 perch in a very short time. Hana and lil Ricky were great at holding the fish and letting them go.
There was so much food. Especially meat. There are no words to describe how much food there was. I think it could of fed a small village for weeks.
At night the kids made smores by the campfire. Some of the adults played volleyball. Yes, I was one of these. If you know me, than you know I have no athletic talent. For the most part the guys hogged the ball but I did get a few victory shots.
It was an amazing day. It was beautiful, we were with amazing christian people, the food was amazing and we all just had a blast.
Big Ricky is really interested in WWII pilots. So by chance Hooks airport was displaying some of the actual WWII bomber planes on Sunday. It was very interesting to see the size of the planes and just the technology back than. I can't believe how much everything has advanced. To walk through the planes you could almost feel what an adrenaline high it is. Let's not forget the fear that must have been going through these guys as they were out on a mission. These men were definitely brave.
The Houston Rodeo was also in town so we decided to take the kids on Monday. It's a neat experience seeing all the agriculture and letting the kids learn first hand. The kids also had a great time at the carnival. They were more interested in doing the carnival walk throughs than the actual rides. Lil Ricky's favorite was the trampoline where your harnessed and jump as high as you want. It was a great day for the kids.
From Tuesday to Friday the kids and I spent the time in Corpus Christi visiting my parents. The kids had a good time going to the beach. The water was still too cold, at least for me and the kids. But you would be surprised how many people got in. For the most part we caught pretty good weather. Hana also turned 3 on that Friday so we celebrated her birthday with grandparents before we made the 4 hour car drive back home. It's always good seeing my family. The kids love spending time with them and Ricky and Babi (grandma) have a very strong bond.
Like I said Spring Break went extremely fast but it was fun!

A Great Day
This past weekend, Saturday to be specific was a beautiful day. Warm and sunny. Something we haven't seen in awhile. As a family we wanted to do something. We knew we didn't want to do the mall or go shopping. So we decided to go the Huntsville State Park. What a wonderful idea. We were able to walk the trails. We saw rabbits chasing each other. I have to admit do to all the I survived or I shouldn't be alive shows I watch I was a lil afraid of a Mountain Lion coming out of now where. Sounds silly I know but it could happen. We had a great day and plan on returning again.
Also that same day the 100 mile non stop marathon was going on at the Huntsville State Park. Yes, you don't need to re-read I did write 100 mile NON STOP marathon. Ricky's good friend, Freddy from California was one of the people who ran it. He finished it in 28 hours!!! Lets just say he was sore and extremely tired the next day. I did learn one interesting thing that through out all the running they are constantly eating these special foods/gels. So through the whole run they will consume about 15,000 calories. That's NUTS!! What an amazing accomplishment and we're so proud of him.
On another note Ricky and Hana have been getting up around 3 am and coming to my bed. Well, this really wasn't working for me so I wasn't sure if this was going to work but I told Ricky if the sun is not out than you don't get out and just go back to sleep unless your hurt. IT WORKED!! He said he woke up a few times but because the sun wasn't shinning he went back to bed.
A couple of days Hana woke him up because he she was scared and he told her to close her eyes and go back to sleep that Jesus will protect her.
What a precious little boy I was blessed with. I hope he never loses his innocence.

That Doesn't Belong There............
My husband Ricky and I try to give our kids the world. As i'm sure every parent does. If your child wants it you try to find a way to get it for them. As long as it's in reason of course. Even though you know that one thing is a wast of money, your going to have to pick it up, it's never going to be in the right place, it's going to cause a fight between Ricky and Hana and in a few days they won't even care about it. You go against your better judgment and put the cheap plastic toy in the cart.
As soon as you get it home they play with it non stop. You actually think you did something right because your getting some piece and quiet and you aren't tripping over your precious munchkins all day. Than you discover it's very short lived and there you go tripping over your precious munchkins and yelling "that doesn't belong there". It's a vicious cycle we put our selves through over and over. Why do we do this to our selves knowing what the out come is going to be? Do we have hopes that it will be different this time? Well it won't be. I guess we do it to make them happy or is it to avoid the tantrum??? hmmmmm...........

What:..... A 2 Year Old Does That?
My innocent and precious little Hana is not as innocent as people think. Yes, she does capture your heart with her petite size and her big smile. The whole time she's thinking on how to manipulate the situation. Yes, my two year old tries everything she can do to gain control of the situation and have people do what she wants. Especially her big brother Ricky.
She is asked to pick her belongings up and the next think I know Ricky is picking them up for her. What just happened? What powers does she have over him? It's very frustrating. There are lessons to be learned, and they are definitely NOT get someone else to do my job for me.
Last night I realized she expects it. I was putting them to bed and Hana left her frog pillow in the living room. She asked me to go get it I told her "no" and if you want it you need to get it. She than replied "no, Ricky go get it?" In which I said No and had to hold Ricky back at the same time. She puckered her lips out and hid her face.
Hana has to learn that in life there are not people that do stuff for you. If you want something you need to do it yourself.
Can't blame her for trying though.

Joy of Time Out
When you think of putting your child in time out you have visions of them going to the spot and staying their quietly for the specified length of time and than you talk about what she/he did wrong. That's how it's portrayed on T.V. right?
Than reality sets in and you realize that's not how life really is.
We just had a time out incident that I would say was pretty interesting and gave me some insight to my lil sweet baby boy and what I have to look forward to as he gets older.
He got time out from big Ricky for one reason or another. Our time out is in the dining room and time is for how old you are. So in Ricky's case 5 minutes. Well the whole time he was screaming on how he wanted his gummies (vitamins). After enough time goes by big Ricky asks him " are you ready to be a gentleman" in which lil Ricky responds "are you ready to give me gummies" with out skipping a beat. Wow I was taken back by this quick and smart response. It took all I had not to laugh.
Let's just say he stayed in about 1-2 minutes longer.
I look down the tunnel of the future and realize no matter how hard I think it is now, it's only going to get harder. At this age I could still control them but as they get older I can't.
For those of you who wonder if Ricky ever got his gummies. The answer is yes only after he earned them back by cleaning his room.
I do have to say since I'm extremely slow on come backs lil Ricky definitely didn't get his quick comebacks from my side of the family. I have to say it's all Pagnozzi.
