Hana's Christmas Progam
Hana had her first Christmas Program at Windwood. Ricky and I look forward to these every year. We couldn't wait to see her. We really didn't know what to expect since she likes doing her own thing. Even though she is very out going, when it comes to being on stage or performing she clams up.
She did great. She definitely showed her Christmas spirit. She was loud and very jolly.

RECEIPES!!
I have to post these recipes so I don't lose them. They are what I am required to make every year for Thanksgiving. I thought I lost the green bean casserole recipe and I could still hear my sisters despair in her voice. All the while trying to make me feel better that this new recipe I found would be just as good. Then referring back to the old recipe. Thankfully I found the recipe the night before Thanksgiving. So I had to go back to the grocery store to get the ingredients. Early that day I was praising my self for being on top of everything and not having to fight the Thanksgiving crowd. Little did I know.
-2 cups heavy cream
-1 cup milk
-1/2 cup butter
-1 cup water
-1/4 teaspoon salt
-1 cup all purpose flower
-4 eggs
1. Mix together pudding mix, cream and milk ( I use and electric mixer) Cover and refrigerate to set.
2. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F
3.In a large pot, bring water and butter to a rolling boil. Stir in flour and salt until the mixture forms a ball. Transfer the dough to a mixing bowl. Using a wooden spoon or a stand mixer, beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet. ( I do teaspoon fuls bc they get big).
4. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown. Centers should be dry.
5. When the shells are cool, either split and fill them with the pudding mixture or use a pastry bag to pipe the pudding into the shells. ( I split them and fill them).
***For an extra added touch I melt some chocolate in the microwave and than drizzle it on the puffs"

Green Bean Casserole:
- Salt
-1 1/2 lb fresh green beans, ends trimmed
-2 tablespoons chopped onion ( I use a whole small onion)
-4 oz finely chopped mushrooms
-2 tablespoons flour
-8 oz sour cream
-pepper - to taste
-1 1/2 cup corn flakes
-1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over medium heat. Add the green beans and cook for until just tender but still firm, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the water to a large bowl of ice water to preserve color and stop the cooking. Drain the beans and set aside.
3. Melt 2 tablespoons of the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onions and saute until translucent. Stir in the mushrooms, season with salt and pepper, to taste and saute about 3 - 5 min. Add the flour and stir for another min, to cook out the raw flour taste, and then whisk in the sour cream. Simmer for just a couple of minutes to bring the flavors together and taste for seasoning.
4. Cut the green beans into 2 inch pieces. Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter in a small pan. Crush the cereal flakes in a reseable plastic bag and add them to the pan with the butter. Toss to coat. Spread the beans over the bottom of a 9 in casserole dish. Pour all of the mishroom sauce mixture over the beans and top with the grated cheese. Sprinkle the buttered cereal flakes and bake in oven until golden brown and bubbly, approximately 20 minutes.

Christmas Picture 2010
Wow I can't believe it's time for another Santa Picture. The time is going super fast! The kids were so excited to see Santa. They threw me for a loop because they told Santa what they wanted and it was NOT on the list! I think this years picture turned out good.

Thanksgiving 2011
We had a great Thanksgiving week. The kids were off from school for 1 full week. On Saturday till Tuesday I took the kids to visit my parents on N Padre Island. The weather was beautiful. The kids actually swam in the beach. Lil Ricky was body surfing! We had a good time visiting my parents and the kids getting that quality time with their grandparents. I know they can't wait to see them on Christmas.
Second half of Thanksgiving was spent at home relaxing. On Thanksgiving day we went to my sisters house as we have done the past couple of years. It's always so much fun. She married into a large and great family. We always love spending time with them. This Thanksgiving was bittersweet because Marco's grandmother was very ill and in the hospital. Sadly Sunday after Thanksgiving she passed. This made me realize even more that life isn't about the material things you have but who you have in your life. So I know my husband will be reading this and shaking his head. So to that I say. Yes, I still have wants but they're not important. I'm not going to be heart broken if I don't get everything I want.
It's who you have in your life. I am blessed daily to be surrounded by the people I love and our good health. They are who get me through my good and bad days.
This is what I'm thankful for this year:
1. My husband and children.
2.Our health
3. My parents
4. My sister
5. My great friends
6. Surviving the recession
7. Being a stay at home mom. I know I complain about it at times, but I wouldn't give it up for anything. I love the bond and closeness I have with my kids because of it. I also love the tight bond they have with each other. I still think being a SAHM is the hardest job anyone can have. You NEVER get a break.

10. Dates with Ricky
11. Family time. Since Ricky works so much this time is always treasured.
I'm truly blessed to have what I have in life.

Hana and School
Hana goes to school Tuesday and Thursday. Most days she loves to go. She has so much fun playing with her friends and doing crafts. Hana has her own strong will personality. She is even so far on "oh no" and "sunshine" notes. Even though she learns a lot she doesn't like to share what she has learned.

Ricky's Many Awards
We are so proud of lil Ricky. He is doing amazing in Kindergarten. Not only behavioral wise but also academically. Ricky likes to learn. He loves doing work books and playing learning games. His 1st report card reflected all E's. All 19!! Ricky was excited because he earned a $1 for each E =)
Kohrville holds an awards ceremony after each 9 weeks (the 1st one was beginning of November) Ricky received 4 awards (the most). He received A honor roll, Principals award (citizenship), Math award and Perfect Attendance. Ricky also received the Coyote Champion Award. The Coyote Champion is a special award because only 1 student from each class is picked. It's an award picked by your peers. Ricky was sent home with this note:
This student is a Coyote Champion because he is a good friend. He doesn't pull tickets. He doesn't talk out when we are on the carpet. He shares with everyone in the class. He does his work.
