SPRING BREAK 2015

The kids and I were able to visit The Albrecht family in San Antonio this spring break. They moved away about a year ago and we really miss them.
It turns out we were extremely lucky to have been able to go. The weather in Houston was rainy and chilly. San Antonio had perfect weather for the most part. No rain, but a few days were cloudy and mornings were chilly.
We left Monday before lunch for the 3.5 hour drive. We stopped 1/2 way through to stretch our legs and grab some lunch at Taco Cabana.
Monday the kids just played and Lorelei and I chatted and planned the next 3 days.
Tuesday we visited the Alamo. It was a little challenging with Vincent. The kids were able to do an audio tour. I think they enjoyed it. Especially Ricky since he is learning about it in school. Thank we crossed the street and walked the River Walk a bit. We finally ate lunch at El CafĂ©. It was yummy Mexican food. We were able to enjoy the nice weather and sit outside. Vincent slept through it, so even I was able to enjoy it. It was a perfect day.  Well, except for the $20 parking!!!!!
Tuesday the kids spent at Main Event playing in the arcade. Lorelei was able to get these 8 hour fun cards of unlimited play. We got there in the morning with all the kids. The little ones were also able to play and seemed to enjoy it. After a couple hours we left to eat lunch at "In and Out" burgers. They were yummy. Back to the house to get the little ones to sleep and Lorelei took the older kids to continue playing at the arcade. They had a blast.
Thursday we spent the day at the zoo. It was a beautiful sunny day. We wanted to make sure and get there early to beat the spring break crowd. We decided we would wake up early and make the kids egg tacos for breakfast (this way they would be full for awhile). We planned to be out of the house by 7:30 ish. Zoo opened at 8 for spring break. Well with 6 kids, I'm not really sure what we were thinking. We had such high hopes. We left her house about 9!! It was ok though bc we beat the crowd. The zoo was a lot of fun and everyone enjoyed it. We spent most of the afternoon there. Lorelei and I were pretty beat by the time we were done. We stopped at Bush's chicken for a late lunch and then headed back to Lorelei's house to pack and head back to Houston.
We had a great spring break and I'm really glad we were able to spend it with some great friends. Lorelei and David were great hosts!!
