Luke 2:11
"Today in the town of David
a Savior has been born to you:
he is Christ the Lord."
I'd like to start the blog of by saying Happy Birthday to Jesus. This is truly what Christmas is about. I know we get caught up in the commercialism of it all. Especially if you have kids than it's so easy to get caught up. Especially in Santa.
Leading up to Christmas I made sure my kids understood what the true meaning of Christmas really is.
My Czech tradition has always been to celebrate Christmas eve. My parents came and my sister, Vlady and Marco also spent the day with us. The kids were so anxious to open gifts. I think it was a grueling long day for them. We ate our traditional dinner of pea soup, fried catfish and potato salad. Except big Ricky who is on a diet plan. So proud of him. He resisted temptation. Well for the most part. He had a few bites of potato salad. Before dinner little Ricky led prayer. He did so good. it was such an amazing prayer. I'm so proud of him.
After we ate every one was able to open gifts. Of course Santa had to save a lot for Christmas day.
The kids were so excited. They got so much just on Christmas eve.
Right before bed time the kids went outside to sprinkle reindeer food on the lawn. It was raining and freezing cold. Hana let Ricky do most of the work.
They set cookies and milk out for Santa. The cookies were extra special this year because they decorated them.
Big Ricky and I attended Candle light service at our church. Such a great service. After we came home Ricky had a few things to assemble for the kids. While Santa stuffed stockings and put presents under the tree.
Santa definitely gets a lot of credit ;(.
The kids woke up extra early Christmas morning. They were super excited about all their toys. Lets just say they were SUPER good this year. At least Santa thought so. Santa got really carried away.
"They are young enough to believe and old enough to know what's going on." That's what my bff Leah said. So i'm sticking to that logic =).
I have to say Santa was very good to me also. He brought me everything on my list. I have to brag a little on Santa. I got a pink chi, 2 pairs of Miss Me Jeans ( I wanted them for so long) and a laptop. But my best gift is Ricky taking action and getting healthy.
Later that day we went to go see Tangled. It was such a cute movie. I can't wait till it's released on DVD. A definite must own.

Love Hana's reaction. After every gift she opened she would say " I always wanted this"
Marco and Vlady getting their goodies. Even after Vlady was told several times not to bring chocolate. She ended up bringing these special ordered chocolates from Pennsylvania. They were so pretty and no one could resist these chocolates. They were deadly.
