SPRING BREAK 2012

This spring break was very laid back. We did not do much. Usually we go to North Padre Island and spend time at the beach. Due to my parents packing and getting ready to move we were not able to. We went and saw Lorax with a few friends. We went to the Houston Rodeo/Carnival. The other days were spent on play dates.
                                                          Browsing the baby chics.

                                                                  Crawfish!!!!

                                                                    So Yummy!!
The kids had meat since they could not eat the crawfish.
Dad cooking sausage and meat for himself and the kids, oh and the other people.

FIVE YEARS AGO TODAY GOD GAVE ME A LITTLE BLESSING

Five years ago today, God has blessed me with my amazing little girl, Hana, which I love more then words could ever express.
She was born on her own terms and still lives life only by her own rules. She is our little fire cracker who will stand up for her self in a heartbeat, but at the same time is caring as can be.
She makes us laugh daily, but at the same time she makes us mad daily.
I could not imagine my life with out her and her bigger then life personality.
She is an incredible little girl and I know will be an amazing women who will conquer the world.
At 5 years old she weighs: 39.5lbs  and is 3 feet 8 inches tall.

We celebrated her birthday on the 18th with her aunt Vlady and Uncle Marco.  Vlady made a delicious coconut cake, which I think I od'ed on today. It is so good! I made a recipe from Pioneer Women. Whiskey Chicken. It was soooo good. I can't wait to make it again.
Hana had a great birthday. We took her to Toys R Us and she picked out a few toys and that evening was spent celebrating her birthday with Vlady and Marco.

Hana wanted chinese (sweet chicken) for her birthday lunch. Panda express it was.
Her Toys R Us trip. She got a stuffed kitty and a Barbie interactive puppy/dr kit.

The coconut cake Aunt Vlady made. Delicious!!

Precious Moments statue Hana gets every year for her birthday from Uncle Marco.
I loved her face here. Only reason it made the blog.

I hope she made a good wish.

The James Avery necklace Hana got to match Aunt Vlady's.

HANA'S FIRST "REAL" HAIRCUT

Hana has been begging to get her hair cut short for over a month now. One reason is that when she gets her hair brushed in the morning it is always tangled and it hurts her. I am not really sure how she could go to sleep with beautiful brushed hair and wake up with tangles. I guess this is one of life's mysteries.
I have not been wanting to get it cut because having her long hair still kept her in the little girl stage and she looks like a little girl.
I finally gave in today. I have to say I am very pleased with the results. Even though, it took her "little" girl look away. It does look much healthier and stylish.

Kids Sayings

Hana and Ricky sometimes say or do things that make me really laugh and look at things from their point of view.
Some recent ones are.

1. Hana tore a $1 bill in 1/2. When asked why. She said that she wanted to share it with Ricky and give him 1/2.

2. Ricky asked me since the presidents house is called "the white house" if they only let white people in.

3. Hana when she knows she is going to get in trouble for hurting someone she makes sure to run to us 1st and makes sure to tell us she only hurt him/her a little bit.

4. Hana asked me a question I could not answer, she looks at me and says "mom you are not very smart are you?" and walks away.  She did this in her most sassy way too.

PROBABLY OUR LAST TRIP TO N PADRE ISLAND

A couple of weeks ago, the kids and I went to visit my parents. Although, it is always exciting to visit them, it was also a very bittersweet trip. This was probably our last trip to the Island. My parents are moving far far away at the end of March. This is the place I have known as home since 1995. The place I  have been taking my kids during the summer since lil Ricky was born. Despite all that it was a great trip.
The kids and I got some great quality time with my parents. We went to the aquarium. Which is lil Ricky's favorite thing, since he is into dolphins and sharks and has been forever. We tried going to the beach but it was too cold. I think we lasted 5 minutes.
